Sergio Altamirano, LEED AP BD+C
Mr. Altamirano is a Sustainability Consultant at Apollo BBC. In 2001 he was awarded the CONACYT scholarship and after earning a Masters of Architecture, joined the Ministry of Urban Development for the City of Matamoros, Tamaulipas. As a Project Coordinator for the Sustainable Cities Initiative, Sergio explored an array of projects for the city including a pyrolysis plant that would create electricity from waste such as tires.

Sergio has performed as LEED AP for projects in the US and Mexico; including a LEED Silver Certified building project in Chihuahua that is the first building in Mexico to attain certification under the version 3.0. His experience with the LEED certification process makes him a key component in over 30 projects that are currently pursuing certification.
Sergio also serves as a board member for the Chihuahuan Desert Chapter of the USGBC and enjoys sharing his knowledge and interacting with the new generation of architects. He has instructed classes for the Department of Architecture at El Paso Community College, and continues to give present to various universities in Mexico.
